My name is Mahebub Aalam (though I usually go by MA). I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science with a focus on Computer Vision and Graphics from Northwestern University. I also recently graduated from Northwestern with a double major in Physics with a concentration in Astronomy, and Computer Science.

Graduation Definitive proof that I did, in fact, graduate with those degrees.

During my undergrad, I worked in Professor Eric Dahl’s lab, mainly focusing on the camera system for the Scintillating Bubble Chamber. Now, I am working in Professor Emma Alexander’s Bio Inspired Vision Lab, assisting Ph.D. student Kerem Aydin on a project to develop a novel hyperspectral imaging modality inspired by the unique eyes of cephalopods.

Outside of academics, I really enjoy marching percussion and have been a member of the Northwestern University Marching Band for the past few years. Here’s one of my favorite shows we performed…

… and a close up of the snare drums playing through our cadences – that’s me, third from the left!
